Coach Alberto is an experienced chess coach specializing in teaching kids. More than 20 years teaching chess full-time, former Hong Kong Champion (2014), Hong Kong representative in Asian Continental or World Chess Olympiad. He holds the titles of FT (FIDE Trainer, the highest trainer qualification by the World Chess Federation).
Having worked in some of the major chess academies in Hong Kong, now he coaches independently. He has taught in schools such as Harrow, Malvern, St. Stephen's, ISF, Singapore International School, Canadian School, ....
Do you offer online lessons?
Our lessons can be conducted in person or online. But we recommend the face-to-face format for younger players.
How are the lessons conducted?
Private lessons allow a personalized approach, depending on the learning profile of each student, as well as their relative strenghts and weaknesses. The Core of the system will be the very systematic Step Method , employed in many countries around the work and having produced lot of strong players, even up to the Grandmaster level. Analysis of the students games to try to understand and improve their thinking process is another key part of the classes.
